So, what is wrong with men? I mean that rhetorically, actually, as I’m a wife to one, daughter to one, and mother of two, and friend of many. But, both Trivers and Humphrey diss their own gender (something Isaac Asimov would think weird). Trivers more gently, in that he acknowledges the misbehavior and oppression that, at times (even now), men have perpetuated on women – though he clearly states, both males and females are necessary. They have evolved across species, from birches, to octopi to human. Males and females are needed. Whereas Humphries does away with the males as being superfluous in his Andromedan scientist (of course, being from Andromeda, one would expect…). At which point I felt sad, because who wants to be without men? Not dominated by, for sure, but I want to be among men, not make them obsolete. Don’t be SNAG’s. Any more than MCP’s.

... because if I'm in a room with a second person, I want to be reasonably sure I'm the crazier one.
